Thursday, April 9th from 5:30-8PM – Intro to Stone Carving at Friendly City Clay and Art Center, Harrisonburg, VA. $75/person plus $25 material fee for stone to be paid at first class. Saturday April 25 (10AM-5PM – Sunday April 26 (12-5PM) – Carve a Sculpture in Two Days Retreat at The Workshop at Timber Ridge. Carve an animal sculpture in soapstone using soapstone blocks prepared to the general dimensions of stock animals. Cost $425, all supplies included. BYOL (bring your own lunch). Make your own tools and then learn to carve with them at the VA Institute of Blacksmithing. The weekend of tool making and stone carving returns! On Saturday, attend a blacksmithing workshop and make your own set of stone carving tools from 9AM-4PM on Saturday, June 20. Cost $150.
